Terrorism: Jonathan, Service Chiefs Hold Crucial Meeting


A crucial meeting of all service chiefs held today with President Goodluck Jonathan as the Presidency reviews the operations of the various security outfits charged with the task of routing out the deadly Boko Haram insurgents in the North.
In attendance at the meeting held at the Presidential Villa were the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim; the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-General Azubuike Ihejirika; Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Alex Badeh and the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba.
Although no hint of the details of the meeting was given at the end, the Nigeria Politics Online gathered that President pointedly asked each of the Service Chiefs to state categorically the progress made so far and to offer their opinions on the way forward.
Also top on the agenda of the meeting was the issue of oil theft which is said to be threatening revenue to the Federation Account.
