The Senate today suspended a Pro-Buhari Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege Over comments believed to have impugned on the integrity of the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The suspension of came as an outcome of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions investigation of Omo-Agege’s comment based on a petition by Senator Dino Melaye.
The report was considered on Thursday finding Omo-Agege guilty
.He was subsequently recommended for suspension for 181 legislative days.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, however, pleaded that the duration of the suspension be reduced to 90 days (six months), which was unanimously granted.
Omo-Agege was also ordered to withdraw a case he instituted against the chamber from the court and asked him to disband the pro-Buhari ‘Parliamentary Support Group’.
