Former Lagos state Governor and national leader of the All Progressive Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the move by the President Goodluck Jonathan to constitute a national conference now that the 2015 election is at hand as deceptive and a belated step.
Tinubu who spoke today in Lagos, while addressing newsmen shortly after his touched down from London where he had gone for treatment, asked proverbially, can’t you identify a good soup when you smell it, in mine opinion as a politician, a national conference now is a ruse.
The APC leader who was received at the executive jet arm of the Muritala Muhammad airport Lagos by Gov Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, his Ekiti state counterpart, Dr Kayode Fayemi, said he will however await the decision of his party on the national conference.
Speaking on the incessant plane crash in the country,Tinubu opined that it is not about the age of the aircrafts, but corruption and mismanagement that have pervaded the aviation industry.
He then described as sad , disturbing and unacceptable, the waste of lives and resources occasioned by plane crash in the country.
Expressing condolence on the death of former ondo state gov, Dr Olusegun Agagu, the former Lagos state governor, described him as a good man who brought character into politics.
