Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday eulogized the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua eight years after his death.
Jonathan who was Vice President to Yar’adua described his late boss as a great democrat and servant leader.
Jonathan who ruled Nigeria from May 5, 2010-May 29, 2015 on his facebook wall writes: “Today, I remember the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, a great democrat and servant leader, whose leadership Nigeria was blessed to have if even for a brief period. Your legacy of fostering peace and progress in Nigeria and beyond is worthy of emulation”
Late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua died on May 5, 2010 after suffering from a kidney condition. He was the 13th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was governor of Katsina State in northern Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 28 May 2007. Yar’adua was elected under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party and ruled from May 29, 2007-May 5, 2010.
He also belonged to the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) – a powerful political block founded by his late brother, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, who was also Obasanjo’s vice president during his military rule.
