Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari, governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola , Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Al-makura, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole and other top chieftains of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC are in Lagos to celebrate the interim national chairman of the party, chief Bisi Akande who clocks 75 today.
Buhari who is the chairman of the occassion extolled the political ideals of the former Osun governor describing him as a man of integrity.
The former presidential candidate of the defunct Congress for Progress Change recalled when Akande was the governor of Osun saying his achievements outshined all the states in Nigeria.
Lagos State governor , Babatunde Fashola who was represented by his deputy, Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire in his welcome address hailed the former governor noting that his outstanding leadership has helped increase the number of states controlled by the APC.
Other dignataries in attendance include, former speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahlaji Aminu Masari, Senator Annie Okonkwo, Interim National Publicity Secretary of APC,Ahlaji Lai Muhammed, former Governors, Niyi Adebayo(Ekiti),Olusegun Osoba(Ogun) , Deputy Governor of Kano, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, former ondo governorship candidate of the party in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, Lagos Assembly Speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Deputy Governor of Osun, Chief Mrs. Grace Laoye Tomori, Prof Akin Oyebode among others.
