What appeared to have thawed as the crisis in the Nigeria’s house of soccer, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) came up again on Monday as Mr. Chris Giwa showed up at the headquarters of the Federation to assume office as the new chairman.
Giwa claimed to be acting on the instructions of the Federal Government which made reference to an earlier court ruling of the Supreme Court which had ruled in his favour since May 5 this year.
“I am here to claim my mandate as the substantive chairman elected on August 26, 2014.
“We waited for the other board to finish the preparations for World Cup so that we can assume office,” he said.
He said he had waited for the other board led by Pinnick to finish its preparations for the world cup before asking the Pinnick-led board to give way for his team.
