The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested two sons of Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, over an alleged money laundering.
Nigeria Politics Online gathered that Aminu and Mustapha Lamido were picked up in Kano yesterday and whisked to Abuja this morning. They are currently being interrogated by operatives of the anti-graft agency at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
Aminu Lamido, studied Mass communication of Bayero University and graduated in 2010, Mustapha Lamido, is an alumni of the University of Abuja.
Governor Lamido has hurriedly left the Governors’ Forum retreat in Sokoto for Abuja to secure the release of his children.
The Acting Head of Media of EFCC, Wilson Uwajeren, who confirmed the arrest today said the governor’s children were arrested for money laundering.
